Teacher Training Course: VE with Young Language Learners
The free online course on Virtual Exchange (VE) in the early language classroom was developed by the INVITED consortium in collaboration with practitioners. Drawing on their expertise and feedback, the course was designed as a professional development opportunity for English as a Foreign Language teachers of young learners who wish to develop their Virtual Exchange skills.

With the help of this course, you will:
- get familiar with the concept of virtual exchange in the early language classroom,
- explore different competence areas that can be developed through VE in the early language classroom,
- understand the relevance of appropriate VE tasks,
- get to know a variety of digital tools for VE projects with young learners,
- learn how to start and carry out a VE project.
Overview:
The course takes approximately 25 hours to complete and guides you step by step through the process of bringing Virtual Exchange (VE) into your classroom. Upon successful completion of the course, participants receive a certificate of completion. The course is structured into six engaging modules, it combines practical activities, real-world examples, and strategies to help you develop the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to successfully implement VE projects with young language learners.

- Module 2 explores why VE is so valuable for young learners and how it can enrich their classroom experience.
- Module 3 helps you discover effective, age-appropriate tasks you can use in VE projects.
- Module 4 shows how VE supports the development of digital competence and presents a range of useful digital tools.
- Module 5 guides you through the process of launching your own VE project using the eTwinning platform.
- Module 6 gives you the opportunity to reflect on your completed project and start planning for future VE collaborations.
