Recently, the INVITED project received some welcome visibility in the Spanish media. Pedro Ferez and Yvette Coyle, our project partners at the University of Murcia, were invited onto the airwaves of ORM (Onda Regional Murcia), one of the region’s key news broadcasters. During the conversation, they unpacked the idea of virtual exchange, explained how the INVITED project is pushing this approach forward across Europe, and highlighted the dedicated European team behind the project.
Over the course of the interview, Pedro and Yvette described how virtual exchange is reshaping the way students connect, collaborate, and learn across borders – without having to travel. They reflected on the growing importance of digital intercultural experiences in higher education and how INVITED is contributing tools, research, and best practices that help institutions integrate these exchanges.
They also spoke about the collaborative nature of the project, emphasizing the mix of universities, educators, and researchers working together to create meaningful online intercultural encounters. By sharing concrete examples and insights from their work at the University of Murcia, they offered listeners a clear picture of how virtual exchange can enrich both teaching and learning.
